Real Estate Sales Statistics in Turkey, July 2023

Real estate sales across Turkey in 2023 increased by 0.7% compared to the same month in 2022 and became 109 thousand 548 houses.
In Istanbul, the highest share was obtained with 15,724 housing sales and a 14.4% share in total housing sales. Following Istanbul in terms of sales numbers, Ankara had 9,688 housing sales and an 8.8% share, while Izmir had 5,030 housing sales and a 4.7% share. The provinces with the lowest housing sales were Ardahan with 27 housing units, Hakkâri with 40 housing units, and Tunceli with 91 housing units, respectively.

31,641 Newly Built Real Estate Sales in Turkey

In July, the number of newly built real estate sales in Turkey increased by 10.3% compared to the same month in 2022, reaching a total of 31,641 units. In the year 2023, new housing sales also increased by 10.3% compared to the same period in 2022, totaling 31,641 units. The share of newly built real estate sales in the total housing sales was 28.9%. During the January-July period, new housing sales decreased by 14.5% compared to the same period in 2022, reaching a total of 202,799 units.

esale housing sales in Turkey increased by 19.5% in July compared to the same month in 2022, reaching a total of 77,907 units. The share of resale housing sales in the total housing sales was 71.1%. Resale housing sales during the January-July period decreased by 19.0% compared to the same period in 2022, totaling 472,528 units.

2,801 Turkish Properties Were Sold to Foreigners in July 2023

In July 2023, property sales to foreigners in Turkey decreased by 28.9% compared to the same month in 2022, amounting to 2,801 properties. The share of foreign property sales in the total property sales for July 2023 was 2.6%. In terms of property sales to foreigners, Antalya took the lead with 996 property sales. Following Antalya, Istanbul had 832 property sales, and Mersin had 263 property sales.

The Highest Number of Real Estate Sales were made to Russian Citizens

In July 2023, Russian citizens purchased 772 properties in Turkey. Following Russia, Iranian citizens bought 272 properties, Iraqi citizens bought 204 properties, and Ukrainian citizens bought 146 properties.
