Turkish Statistical Institute, announced 2022 house sales statistics. While house sales decreased by 0.4% in 2022, the highest sales were made in Istanbul.

Turkish Statistical Institute, TUIK, announced 2022 house sales statistics. While house sales decreased by 0.4% in 2022, the highest sales were made in Istanbul.

On the other hand, housing sales to foreigners, increased by 15.2% in 2022 compared to 2021, and Russian citizens were at the forefront of those who chose Turkey for real estate investment.
Housing sales in 2022 decreased by 0.4% compared to 2021 and amounted to 1 million 486 thousand. While 259 thousand 654 houses were sold in Istanbul, Ankara was followed by Istanbul with 126 thousand 166 sales and İzmir with 83 thousand 502 houses.
The provinces with the lowest number of house sales were, respectively Ardahan with 468 houses, Hakkari with 910 houses and Bayburt with 956 houses.

67 Thousand 490 Turkish Houses were Sold to Foreigners in 2022

 

Housing sales to foreigners in Turkey increased by 15.2% in 2022 compared to 2021 and reached 67 thousand 490.
In 2022, the share of house sales to foreigners in total, house sales was 4.5%. Istanbul took first place in house sales to foreigners with 24,953 house sales, followed by Antalya with 21,860 house sales and Mersin with 4,316 house sales.

In 2022, Most Housing Sales were Made to the Citizens of the Russian Federation

Russian citizens bought 116 thousand 312 houses from Turkey in 2022. The Russian Federation was followed by Iran with 8,223 houses and Iraqi citizens with 345 houses.

484 thousand 654 Houses were Bought by Women and 821 thousand 132 Houses by Men

In 2022, women-owned 484 thousand 654 houses with a share of 32.6%, men-owned 821 thousand 132 houses in Turkey with a share of 55.3%, while 24 thousand 193 houses were purchased jointly by women and men with a share of 1.6%.
